Araby is a creative studio and brand strategy firm based in Seoul since 2012. The name “Araby” is inspired by the Silk Road, which connected the medieval Arab world to Silla, serving as a window for cultural exchange and trade between East and West. Just as a small glass vessel might cross the desert to connect people, our name reflects our aspiration to create pure, refined works that beautifully condense diverse meanings.
We believe that simple and transparent design is, in itself, the most enduring message, carrying a gentle power that transcends language and generations. At Araby, we craft meaningful names, build lively narratives, and create brands that resonate with human sensibility. From identity and visual design to spatial and product design, we plan and produce comprehensive brand strategies and communication systems in collaboration with leading domestic and international companies and artists.

Araby draws on a philosophical and literary perspective, as well as historical knowledge, to uncover the meanings that a brand should embody and to communicate with users in a simple yet engaging way. To explore beyond the boundaries of form, we design multidimensional brand experiences that integrate the sensory qualities of images—tactile textures, visual color and shape—with dynamic flows of association and the emotions they evoke.

Founder and Director of Visual StrategySince the early 2000s, collaborated with creators across music, fashion, and design. The renewal of Hyundai Food Hall marked the beginning of a practice as a Creative Director integrating strategy, design, and execution. Founded Araby Studio in 2012, leading the team while guiding the overall vision.
2000년대 초부터 음악, 패션, 디자인 분야의 다양한 창작자들과 협업해 왔으며, 현대식품관 리뉴얼 프로젝트를 계기로 전략과 디자인, 실행 네트워크를 입체적으로 통합하는 크리에이티브 디렉터로서의 활동을 본격적으로 시작했습니다. 2012년 아라비스튜디오를 창립하여 시각화 전략으로부터 비전을 총괄하며 팀웍을 이끌고 있습니다.

순수예술 분야의 전문 교육을 이수하고 2021년 아라비 스튜디오에 합류했습니다. 인문과 문화, 사용자 스터디를 아우르며 사유를 길어 올려 시각화하며 다양한 프로젝트에서 활약해 왔습니다. 회화적 색채와 질감을 디자인 언어에 더해 스튜디오의 포트폴리오를 확장하는 데 기여하였으며, 현재 주니어 아트디렉터로 활동하고 있습니다.

Director of Spatial Experience
Since collaborating on VMD fixture design and installation for Amore Seongsu in 2019, has continued work across display design, engineering, and fabrication. Leads Studio Flock, and co-led the interior design of Thimbloom’s Seochon space in 2019 with Susie Kim. In 2024–2025, collaborated on fixture system development and signature object design for Olive Young N Seongsu and Olive Better.
2019년 아모레 성수 런칭을 위한 VMD 집기 디자인과 설치 부문 협력을 시작으로, 다양한 프로젝트에서 디스플레이 디자인과 설계, 제작 협업을 이어오고 있습니다. 현재 스튜디오 플록을 이끌고 있으며, 2019년 서촌으로 이전한 팀블룸의 실내디자인을 김수지 디렉터와 함께 리드했습니다. 2024년과 2025년, 올리브영 N 성수와 올리브 베러 프로젝트에서 집기 시스템 개발과 시그니처 오브제 디자인을 협업했습니다.
